Anti-war and cost-of-living protests turned violent in Milan and Turin

Rioters clashed with police, looted stores, and set property on fire in the heart of Milan.

Rioters clashed with police, looted stores, and set property on fire in the heart of Italy’s finance and fashion capital, Milan, on Saturday, emptying the Piazza del Duomo at an hour when the area would usually be teeming with shoppers and people enjoying an aperitivo.

In Turin, rioters broke into a bookstore and threw books on the ground.
