Israeli forces have wounded a Palestinian child with live ammunition and injured at least two journalists with stun grenades and tear gas during raids on two Palestinian NGOs in Ramallah, while deploying snipers around the entrances to the occupied West Bank’s largest government hospital.
On Tuesday, the Palestinian Health Ministry said the child was wounded by Israeli live fire during raids in Ramallah and Al-Bireh, while several other Palestinians suffered breathing difficulties.
At least two journalists were also injured as Israeli forces fired stun grenades and tear gas during the raids, according to media reports.
The official Palestinian news agency Wafa identified them as Palestine TV journalist Khaled Mattawa, who sustained a hand injury from a stun grenade, and Sky News Arabia journalist Firas Lotfi, who suffered a shrapnel wound to his foot. Wafa reported that a gas grenade was fired directly at the journalists.
Israeli forces searched the offices of the Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees and Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association on Tuesday, and entered the courtyard of the Palestine Medical Complex, according to Wafa. Snipers were deployed around the hospital’s entrances.

The raid took place in broad daylight in central Ramallah, alarming residents, many of whom had children at school or relatives at work. Residents reportedly feared Israeli forces could open fire as the operation unfolded.
Israeli forces were also confiscating equipment from Addameer, a Palestinian human rights organization that advocates for prisoners held by Israel. Israeli authorities have previously shut down the organization after designating it a “terrorist” organization.
The raids are the latest development in a broader Israeli military campaign targeting Palestinian civil society organizations.
At the time, Israel’s ministry of military affairs alleged that the organizations used activism as a cover for their activities and were affiliated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). The ministry described the groups as part of an organisation whose stated objectives included the “liberation of Palestine” and the destruction of Israel.
The raids are the latest escalation in Israel’s broader campaign against Palestinian civil society organizations.
In its move to outlaw the organizations, the Israeli war ministry alleged that they used human rights activism as a cover for their activities and had links to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). Israeli authorities used the allegations to designate the groups as “terrorist” organizations, paving the way for their closure and further restricting Palestinian civil society.
Founded in 1991, Addameer provides support to Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli and Palestinian prisons, offering free legal assistance and advocating for prisoners’ rights at the national and international levels, according to its mission statement.
The Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees, established in 1980, works to empower Palestinian women and contribute to the Palestinian national struggle against Israel’s military occupation.
The raids come amid a broader campaign of Israeli military and settler violence across the occupied West Bank.
According to the Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission Israeli forces and settlers have carried out 62,916 assaults targeting Palestinians, their land and property across the occupied territory, including East al-Quds, since the start of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza on October 7, 2023.
