Military analyst Arman Shariati says US claims about oil shipments passing through the Strait of Hormuz are inconsistent with the region’s actual production and export capacity.
He said that reported figures cited by Washington are unrealistic and do not reflect the realities of energy flows in the Persian Gulf.
Shariati also contended that the US-led security architecture in the region has weakened significantly despite decades of investment.
He said missile defense systems deployed by Washington and its regional allies have failed to prevent attacks on strategic targets, while Iran has continued to improve the range and accuracy of its missile capabilities.
According to Shariati, US threats and claims are increasingly at odds with both the military and economic realities on the ground.
