Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian says Iran and Oman should strengthen diplomatic consultations and expand constructive engagement to promote regional peace and stability.
Pezeshkian made the remarks during a telephone conversation with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman on Sunday, hailing the sultan and the Omani government for their efforts to strengthen peace and stability in the region.
He emphasized the importance of drawing on the shared capacities of regional countries to foster greater understanding and cooperation inviting the Omani sultan to visit Tehran.
Pointing to the longstanding friendly relations between Tehran and Muscat, the Iranian president expressed hope that the two sides would meet in person in Tehran in the near future.
For his part, the Omani Sultan reaffirmed Muscat’s commitment to promoting peace and stability across the region, saying close communication and consultations with Iran is among priorities for his country.
He thanked Pezeshkian for the invitation and expressed hope that he would be able to visit Tehran at an appropriate time.
