The German capital, Berlin, witnessed a demonstration organized by the group "United for Palestine," with the participation of protesters who demanded a ceasefire and an end to German arms exports to Israel, and who raised banners criticizing the military support that Berlin provides to the occupation.
The march set off from a square located between the Chancellery and the Parliament, and participants chanted slogans calling for an end to the war on the Palestinians, while carrying signs including "No weapons for Israel" and "State policy kills children," demanding an end to military and political support for Israel and the severing of economic and academic relations with it.
The demonstration focused on Germany's role in the war on Gaza, amid ongoing criticism of German arms exports to Israel, alongside debate over the limits of criticizing Israeli policies and the definition of antisemitism in the country.
The demonstration comes days after the third anniversary of the start of the Israeli genocide war on Gaza, and in the context of pro-Palestine protests taking place in several European cities.
About two weeks ago, the Central Council of Jews in Germany called on the "Left" party to address what it described as allegations of antisemitism within its ranks, following the party's victory in the Berlin state elections.
