Complicity in Saudi crimes in Yemen

Yemen’s war escalates as Saudi Arabia intensifies its military campaign and Pakistan and Turkey prepare to support Riyadh.

Yemen’s war is entering a dangerous new phase, as Saudi Arabia intensifies its military campaign and Ansarullah retaliates against targets deep inside the kingdom. Now, the Mecca Defense Pact between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey is being activated, with both partners preparing military support for Riyadh.

While Turkey maintains that its role will be defensive, that distinction becomes increasingly blurred as Saudi-backed forces seek to retake strategic territory in Yemen.

Meanwhile, attacks on Saudi airports and the battle for Bab al-Mandab threaten to widen the consequences far beyond Yemen’s borders.

And this raises a deeper question: why are regional powers mobilizing to defend Saudi Arabia, while the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza has not prompted comparable collective military action? Could this alliance widen the war, and where do the United States and Israel fit into the equation?

That is what we’ll be exploring with our guests in this edition of the program.
