A large school strike against a new law banning hijabs in private and public schools for Muslim girls under 14 took place in the Austrian capital, Vienna, on Friday.

Since the start of this school year, parents face fines of up to 800 Euros if their daughters wear hijabs and headscarves in school. Protests also took place in other parts of Austria.
