A senior aide to the US ambassador to the zionist entity, Michael Huckabee, has for years systematically suppressed and distorted diplomatic reports on Israel’s genocidal war in Palestine to shield Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet from scrutiny in Washington, a report says.

David Milstein, Huckabee’s senior adviser since April 2025, blocked, delayed and rewrote US Embassy reports on Israeli settlement expansion, settler violence, the killing of Palestinian Americans and Gaza’s worsening humanitarian crisis, cutting away information that could have exposed the full scale of Israel’s actions to Washington, The New York Times reported on Thursday.

In one instance, Milstein intervened after Israel approved an unprecedented expansion of settlements in the occupied West Bank in late March, further deepening the pressure on Palestinians already facing expanding Israeli control of their land.

The warning was suppressed and replaced with language portraying the land acquisitions in a more favorable light, according to the report, while another intervention softened reporting on a spring surge in settler violence, stripping the reports of the urgency of the situation.

US officials had warned that settler attacks could fuel a wider Palestinian uprising, but Milstein blocked reporting that Israeli authorities were failing to stop the violence and instead issued a cable praising Netanyahu.

He also suppressed an embassy inquiry into the deaths of nine Palestinian Americans killed by Israeli forces or settlers, despite investigations producing no criminal charges and US lawmakers seeking information for possible congressional scrutiny.

The suppression came as the United Nations warned that Palestinians in the West Bank were facing “unprecedented levels” of settler violence, continued demolitions and home evictions, leaving Palestinian communities under growing pressure and insecurity.

The interference extended to Gaza, where US diplomats drafted a cable in summer 2025 warning that Israel’s blockade was worsening humanitarian conditions, but Milstein instead sent a separate cable portraying the US-backed so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation more favorably.

The original reporting described the aid operation as “chaotic, deadly” and warned of “mass casualty events,” but those warnings were removed, while reporting from the Palestinian affairs section later fell from several cables a week to only a few a month, leaving Washington with far less information about the deteriorating reality on the ground.

The revelations come as Gaza remains devastated, with the UN warning that health conditions remain critical amid overcrowded displacement sites, inadequate water and sanitation, shortages of medical supplies and restrictions on humanitarian deliveries.

It remains unclear how much Huckabee knew, although officials told the Times that he worked with Milstein to suppress or recast reporting.
