Iran has increased its capacity to produce weapons and defense equipment to 2.5 times its pre-war level following the joint US-Israeli aggression against the country, the Defense Ministry spokesman says, warning that any further aggression will draw a decisive response.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik said Iran was focused on strengthening its defense capabilities and national resilience while consolidating the gains made during the war with the United States and the Israeli regime.
He reiterated that Iran would never forget the crimes committed by the United States and Israel, including the killing of the Islamic Revolution’s martyred leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, as well as children, students and other victims of the aggression.
“The punishment of the American and Israeli killers and terrorists is the firm resolve of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Talaei-Nik said.
The spokesman stated that domestic production of weapons, defense equipment and ammunition had continued to expand since the war began seven months ago.
He noted that production capacity had already reached roughly twice its pre-war level three months ago, before rising further in recent months.
According to the spokesman, the increase was driven by greater use of the capabilities of private and knowledge-based companies, alongside the efforts of Iran’s defense industries.
Talaei-Nik added that production of some weapons had increased by more than threefold, with the participation of the private sector.
Weapons receive technological upgrades under new doctrine
The Defense Ministry spokesman also noted that the country’s research, development and production programs for defense equipment and weapons were being updated in line with wartime conditions and priorities set by the armed forces.
He said more than 1,000 systems, weapons, pieces of equipment and types of ammunition are currently being produced through the Defense Ministry’s production network and its partner companies.
“Part of these weapons and equipment have undergone technological upgrades in line with the new offensive and defensive doctrine, and their production has also increased,” Talaei-Nik said.
He said the increased production capacity, together with technological advances in weapons and equipment, would strengthen Iran’s defense capabilities and its ability to respond to potential threats.
Earlier on Tuesday, Islamic Republic of Iran Army spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia said the production of new offensive and defensive systems, including missiles and drones, had continued throughout the 40-day war and was now being pursued with even greater intensity.
Akraminia said a large stockpile of the newly developed systems was currently available to the Iranian Army, adding that some had already been deployed and could be officially unveiled to the media when deemed necessary.
