A senior Iranian lawmaker has warned the United States and the Israeli regime against any miscalculation in launching yet another war of aggression against the Islamic Republic, stressing that Iran’s armed forces stand fully prepared with fingers on the trigger.

Ebrahim Azizi, the chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, took to X on Tuesday, emphasizing, “Our armed forces are more prepared than ever, fingers on the trigger, waiting for any miscalculation by the US or the Zionist regime.”

He also warned that in case of any miscalculation by Washington and Tel Aviv against Iran, “the response they face will be even more severe and devastating than anything they have seen before.”

The US and the Israeli regime waged their first criminal war against Iran, which lasted 12 days, in June 2025. Their second aggression began on February 28 and came to a halt in early April after 40 days.

In both wars, Iran’s resistance and successful retaliatory operations forced the aggressors to accept a ceasefire.

Iran has also maintained a tight grip on the Strait of Hormuz since the early days of the second imposed war.

In July, the US carried out deadly airstrikes on Iran and imposed a naval blockade in breach of the June 17 Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at ending the war. Iran responded with strikes on strategic US targets across West Asia and declared the Strait of Hormuz closed to all traffic.

In another development on Tuesday, Iranian Parliament Deputy Speaker Ali Nikzad called US President Donald Trump “delusional,” saying, “When a so-called superpower, having tasted the bitter defeat in the face of the iron will and steadfast faith of the great Iranian nation, tries to use media campaigns, threats and bluster to evade acknowledging this humiliating defeat, it is the battlefield, not empty rhetoric, that determines the facts.”

Nikzad went on to say that Washington had intended to turn Iraq into the 51st US state, but was ultimately forced to leave “powerful” Iraq in disgrace and humiliation, with 10,000 dead and 31,000 wounded.

He also stressed that “whether the Strait of Hormuz remains open or closed is determined by fuel-price displays in the United States, not empty tweets.”

Nikzad further said it was in America’s interest to accept reality.

“The Iranian nation decided years ago to live independently and has stood by that decision. It is in your own interest to accept this reality and bow before the will of the Iranian nation,” he stressed.

Nikzad also said the threats by the “delusional president of the United States” are aimed at domestic political consumption and influencing US elections, and have no bearing on the battlefield.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is prepared to respond to any renewed adventurism more firmly, more forcefully and more severely. The devoted defenders of our beloved Islamic Iran, including the powerful Armed Forces and self-sacrificing people, are ready to punish the aggressor enemies in such a way that it will serve as a lesson for history,” Nikzad further emphasized.
