Protesters clash with riot police in the city of Barcelona after thousands of people took to the streets to demand action on housing affordability.
The protests are being fuelled by the eviction last month of 87-year-old Maricarmen Abascal from the Madrid flat where she had lived for decades.
Spain's prime minister called a snap election on Monday after parliament rejected housing measures aimed at quelling the unrest.
