Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says Iran will use all of its diplomatic capacities to safeguard its national interests and strengthen its security and international standing.

Araghchi made the remarks in a post on Instagram on Monday following a meeting held a day earlier with ambassadors, chargés d’affaires and heads of foreign and international missions in Tehran.

During the Sunday meeting, the Iranian minister said he had outlined Tehran’s position on regional and international developments.

The top Iranian diplomat placed a premium on continued diplomatic consultations and dialogue with foreign representatives under the current critical circumstances.

Such engagements, Araghchi said, can help explain Iran’s position and ensure the accurate communication of realities on the ground.

“The diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran continues to pursue its course with seriousness by relying on its principles and national interests,” Araghchi wrote.

“In this path, we will use all diplomatic capacities to safeguard national interests and strengthen the position and security of beloved Iran.”

Also on Sunday, Araghchi warned that any renewed military aggression against Iran will face a stronger response than before.

“If our enemies once again choose the path of military confrontation, they will face a stronger response than before, and we will defend ourselves more powerfully than before.”
