Israeli military forces have stormed several homes in the occupied West Bank, kidnapping citizens and journalists.
The occupying regime’s forces attacked homes in the West Bank on Sunday night and Monday morning, imprisoning ten citizens, including journalist Sami al-Shami, who was taken from his home in Asira al-Qibliya, south of Nablus.
They abducted Raja Marouf Jabr, another journalist living in the West Bank, who was taken away from her home in the town of Arraba, southwest of Jenin.
Journalists have always been a target of the Israeli military. Since the start of the regime’s genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023, more than 37 Palestinian journalists have been held in Israeli prisons.
In Gaza, the Government Media Office says 262 journalists and media workers have been killed since the beginning of the genocide, including 26 women, while more than 433 have been injured.
In their overnight raids, Israeli forces also attacked several civilians’ homes, kidnapping eight other citizens, including a female activist and three children, in various parts of the West Bank.
They also stormed the campus of Birzeit University in northern Ramallah, kidnapped a security guard, and demolished a memorial to martyred students.
The Israeli forces entered the building with a military bulldozer and destroyed the site, which was in memory of Birzeit University students killed in Israeli attacks over the years.
According to Palestinian organizations that monitor prisoner affairs, around 9,350 Palestinian abductees are being held against their will in Israeli jails, including 90 women and 350 children.
