Israeli military forces have abducted two Palestinian journalists in the West Bank, as the regime forces continue their crackdown across the occupied West Bank, kidnapping dozens of civilians and demolishing several homes.
According to the official Palestinian WAFA news agency, Israeli troops raided the town of Arraba, south of Jenin, in the early hours of Sunday, and detained journalist Raja Maarouf Jabr after breaking into her home and ransacking it.
Israeli troops also raided ‘Asira al-Qibliya village, southwest of Nablus, overnight and abducted journalist Sami al-Shami along with five residents.
The latest abductions of Palestinian journalists come more than a fortnight after Israeli forces abducted Press TV correspondent Naqaa Hamed in the West Bank.
Hamed, 38, was abducted on September 14 by occupation forces at a checkpoint near Tuqu’ in Bethlehem. She was set free on October 4, after nearly two weeks in detention at Damon Prison.
Separately, Israeli forces rolled into the town of Kafr Dan, west of Jenin, where they kidnapped Ahmed Abdul Jabbar Salah and Mohammed Ahed Salah as they stormed several homes.
Palestinian security and local sources were also quoted as saying that an Israeli special forces unit raided the Old City of Nablus in the early hours of Sunday, before several Israeli military vehicles entered the area.
The forces barged into several homes in the al-Qaryoun neighborhood before abducting two Palestinians, identified as Izzat Tabila and Jihad Qazour.
Furthermore, Israeli soldiers stormed the town of Qabatiya and Kafr Dan village, where they ransacked several homes and kidnapped several locals. The forces also raided the Jenin refugee camp and abducted a civilian.
In al-Mughayyir village, northeast of Ramallah, Israeli forces ransacked several homes before they searched several other Palestinian houses in Qalandiya refugee camp and the town of Hizma.
Additionally, Israeli forces stormed Aqabat Jaber refugee camp in Ariha, and the town of Attil, located 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) northeast of Tulkarm. There were no immediate reports of possible abductions.
The United Nations has warned that the situation in the occupied West Bank is at a “breaking point.”
The UN has documented more than 1,430 settler attacks resulting in casualties or property damage across roughly 260 Palestinian communities in 2026, with many carried out in the presence of Israeli forces.
Since January 2023, 127 Palestinian communities have been fully or partially displaced, including 47 completely uprooted, affecting more than 6,390 people.
Israeli authorities have also advanced or approved roughly 12,360 settler units across the West Bank this year, including 5,160 in occupied East al-Quds.
