The Russian Foreign Ministry has issued a warning to all foreign nationals, including diplomatic personnel, to immediately cease travel to and residency within Ukraine, as the Russian Armed Forces intensify systematic strikes against the country’s military infrastructure.
In a statement on Saturday, the ministry declared that Moscow will continue to carry out “massive retaliatory strikes” targeting military facilities in Kiev and other Ukrainian cities.
The strikes are being conducted in direct response to ongoing “terrorist actions” carried out by the Ukrainian army against Russia’s civilian population and critical infrastructure, it said.
“The Russian Foreign Ministry once again warns foreign nationals, including diplomatic missions’ personnel, against staying in Ukraine or traveling to the country. Full responsibility for any possible adverse consequences lies with those who ignore this warning,” the statement read.
It added that this is not the first time it has sounded the alarm. The ministry recalled that Russia had called in advance on foreign nationals and diplomats in Kiev to leave the city and refrain from traveling to Ukraine, urging residents to stay far away from military and administrative infrastructure facilities.
“This warning was contained in the Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement of May 25, 2026, in notes verbales sent to foreign partners, and was also conveyed by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin at a briefing for the diplomatic corps on May 27, 2026,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
The ministry also pointed to a glaring contradiction in the approach of Western capitals.
“Authorities in a number of countries—including the US, Britain, EU nations, Norway, and Switzerland—have repeatedly advised their citizens against traveling to Ukraine; the most recent instance was in August,” it stated.
Despite these official travel advisories from their own governments, many Western embassies continue to operate in Kiev, and foreign officials continue to make high-profile visits, the ministry said.
“We observe that not everyone has heeded these warnings, and individuals are knowingly exposing themselves to mortal danger,” it added.
The Russian military operations in Ukraine are the culmination of a years-long NATO-backed proxy war against Moscow.
Since the conflict’s escalation in 2022, the United States and its European allies have funneled hundreds of billions of dollars in advanced weaponry, intelligence, and financial support to the Kiev regime in a failed bid to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia.
Utilizing Western-supplied drones and munitions, Ukrainian forces have repeatedly targeted civilian infrastructure, energy grids, and residential areas deep within Russian territory.
In response, the Russian Armed Forces have shifted their operational focus to the systematic and consistent dismantling of Ukraine’s military-industrial complex, logistical hubs, and command centers.
