Media reports of Iran showing nuclear flexibility false; US trapped in Hormuz Strait: Source
An informed Iranian official has categorically rejected reports circulated by the Saudi-owned Al-Hadath channel alleging that Tehran has shown flexibility on its nuclear position, describing the claims as false and part of a familiar pattern of psychological operations.
Speaking exclusively to Press TV, the official said on Monday night that Washington finds itself trapped in the Strait of Hormuz and is attempting to deflect attention from that strategic failure by reviving the nuclear file.
“The US administration is trapped in the Strait of Hormuz and is raising the nuclear issue as a diversion from this problem,” the official stated. “Iran’s position on this matter has not changed, and there is no discussion about the nuclear issue.”
The remarks come as Al-Hadath and aligned outlets have repeatedly floated unverified stories about alleged Iranian concessions on enrichment, stockpiles, or inspections.
Iranian media have previously branded similar Al-Hadath reports as fabrications and products of American psychological warfare rather than information from any genuine Iranian sources.
Iran has maintained a consistent line since the unprovoked US-Israeli wars of aggression in 2025 and early 2026. After those aggressions, which began amid indirect talks, Tehran declared the nuclear file effectively closed.
Iranian officials have repeatedly stressed that uranium enrichment remains an inalienable right under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and that the program is for peaceful purposes only.
Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and other senior figures have made clear that neither nuclear rights nor missile capabilities are on the negotiating table.
