Resistance operations rise across West Bank as Israel bulldozes trees, land
Four Palestinian resistance operations targeting Israeli settlers and occupation forces have been reported across the occupied West Bank within 72 hours, amid an escalation of Israeli military raids and settler attacks.
The latest operations included a car-ramming attack near Ramallah on Wednesday, in which an Israeli reservist was critically injured.
The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the resistance fighter as Mahmoud Mohammad Mahmoud Suleiman and said he was killed by Israeli forces, while his body has been withheld.
The injured reservist is Neria Leiter, the son of Israel’s ambassador to the US, Yechiel Leiter, and remains in critical condition.
Other recent operations included another car-ramming attack near the Ganim settlement east of Jenin and a drive-by shooting near Anabta, close to Tulkarem, while a shooting operation on September 20 killed an Israeli soldier near the Halamish settlement.
The resistance operations come amid continuing settler attacks across the occupied territory. In one of the latest assaults, Israeli settlers attacked the village of Attara, north of Ramallah, early Thursday.
Israeli settlers burned two Palestinian vehicles and spray-painted racist and hostile slogans on properties during the attack.
Attara has faced repeated settler attacks in recent months, alongside the establishment of a settlement outpost near Palestinian homes in the village.
Israeli forces also uprooted more than 400 olive trees and bulldozed about 3.1 hectares of Palestinian-owned land in Beit Rima, northwest of Ramallah, on Thursday.
The raid followed a military order issued two days earlier that called for the removal of wild vegetation and the uprooting of olive and other trees from two areas in the town.
The Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission said Israeli authorities had issued 51 orders to remove trees and vegetation across the occupied West Bank from the beginning of 2026 through September 22, targeting about 209 hectares of land.
The uprooting has taken place as the olive harvest season approaches, with olive cultivation serving as a major source of income for thousands of Palestinian families.
According to official Palestinian figures, since the regime launched its genocidal assault on Gaza on October 7, 2023, Israeli forces and settlers have killed 1,206 Palestinians, including 254 children, and injured about 13,350 others in the Occupied West Bank.
