IRGC chief: Pezeshkian’s ‘we do not fear war’ message echoes Iranian nation’s resolute voice
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)’s chief commander has described Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s declaration during his address to the United Nations General Assembly that Iran does not “fear war” as the Iranian nation’s “loud and resolute voice” in the face of threats.
IRGC Chief Major General Ahmad Vahidi made the remarks in a message on Thursday, a day after Pezeshkian used his speech at the UN General Assembly to lay bare the terrorist nature of the United States which has killed and wounded tens of thousands of Iranians during its recent illegal war of aggression against Iran.
“‘We do not fear war’ is the loud and resolute voice of the Iranian nation,” General Vahidi said in his brief message, emphasizing that the statement reflects the determination and resolve of the Iranian people.
“It is a voice that resonated from the podium of the United Nations through the words of the honorable president and reached the ears of people around the world,” the IRGC chief stressed.
General Vahidi’s statement underscored Iran’s refusal to be intimidated by the prospect of war or pressure from its adversaries, including the US.
“War was imposed on us, but we proved that we do not fear war to defend ourselves; we do not flee from negotiation for peace, and we stand to the last breath for the defense of dear Iran,” Pezeshkian said during his UN speech on Wednesday.
Earlier, commander-in-chief of the Iranian Army Major General Amir Hatami extended his appreciation to Pezeshkian for manifesting the steadfastness of Iran in his address.
Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces Major General Ali Abdollahi, for his part, praised the Iranian president’s remarks as a slap in the face of “criminal” US President Donald Trump.
