Iran and Oman are to sign a memorandum of understanding on the Strait of Hormuz.

Representatives of some Persian Gulf littoral states plus Iraq are also expected to be in Muscat to discuss the future of the strategic waterway and the opening of a new shipping route under Iran-Oman control.
