Israeli forces raid West Bank communities as settler attacks intensify

Israeli occupation forces have carried out raids and arrests across several parts of the occupied West Bank, while Israeli settlers entered occupied East al-Quds and Palestinian communities reported further attacks on homes, vehicles and farmland.

In the Jenin area, Israeli troops raided several towns and villages on Saturday, including Jenin, Arraba, Kafr Dan, Silat al-Harithiya, Arqa, Jalma, Deir Abu Daif and Faqqu’a.

Six Palestinians were arrested during the raids, while a child was among those wounded, according to Palestinian sources. Several homes belonging to recently released detainees were also searched.

Raids were reported in other parts of the West Bank, including Nablus, Ramallah, Hebron, Tulkarm and Tubas, with Palestinian residents reporting arrests, property damage and restrictions on movement.

Israeli forces also established checkpoints in parts of the West Bank, inspecting Palestinian vehicles and disrupting traffic.

Military reinforcements were reported near Jericho as troops entered additional communities and refugee camps.

In the southern West Bank, Israeli forces accompanied by settlers entered the Palestinian village of al-Mufqara in Masafer Yatta, south of al-Khalil, according to reports from the area.

Meanwhile, in occupied East al-Quds, Israeli authorities forced a Palestinian resident to demolish five commercial buildings and shops he owned in the Wadi al-Joz industrial area, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

The owner was threatened with substantial fines if the municipality carried out the demolitions itself.

The raids coincided with the entry of thousands of Israeli settlers into the Old City of occupied al-Quds ahead of the Jewish New Year.

Israeli forces were deployed around Palestinian areas to secure the settlers’ movement, with additional raids in Anata and near Qalandia refugee camp.

The developments have also been accompanied by a series of settler attacks in Palestinian communities.

Israeli military forces have carried out extensive raids against several Palestinian cities, villages, and camps across the occupied West Bank.

In Faqqu’a, east of Jenin, a Palestinian was shot in the leg by Israeli forces after settlers entered agricultural land and brought livestock onto Palestinian property. Local residents confronted the settlers before Israeli troops intervened, according to Palestinian sources.

In Burqa, east of Ramallah, settlers attacked Palestinian homes and vehicles, damaging windows on a vehicle and at a wedding hall.

Other incidents were reported near al-Mughayyir, where settlers opened fire toward Palestinians at a farm, and in Mikhmas, where a settler brought livestock onto Palestinian farmland after cutting through a fence.

The latest developments come amid heightened tensions across the occupied territory, with movement restrictions and security deployments often increased during Jewish holidays.

Israel has occupied the West Bank since 1967, while violence across the territory has sharply escalated since the regime launched its genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has described Israeli violence in the occupied West Bank as a “silent war” that has largely escaped global scrutiny.
