Israel’s sanctions imposed on UK part of scripted theater: Researcher
Academic and Investigative Researcher David Miller says Israel’s move to close the British consulate in the occupied al-Quds in response to UK sanctions on goods from Israeli settlements is largely symbolic and part of a “scripted” exchange of weak sanctions that neither side treats as serious.
He argues the measures announced by London are minimal and fall far short of any real policy shift, while Israel’s retaliation mostly harms Palestinians.
Miller warns that behind the public rhetoric, Zionist networks in the UK are fomenting race‑based intimidation, including threats of violence and far‑right mobilization, to pressure the British government.
He says Western states are acting only under public pressure after years of genocide, but their steps remain performative, avoiding any meaningful actions such as halting military cooperation, shutting down Israeli arms firms, or ending access to US bases used in regional strikes.
