UAE president’s tip-off to Netanyahu puts Israel ties under new scrutiny

A bombshell report has revealed that UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan personally warned Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu of an impending Hamas operation just 10 days before the October 7, 2023 al-Aqsa Flood, but Netanyahu assured the Emirati ruler that Israel was prepared for any scenario.

According to a report published by Israeli daily Haaretz on Tuesday, bin Zayed spoke with Netanyahu for about 45 minutes and specifically warned that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was planning a major operation.

The Emirati president reportedly warned that the operation would threaten the Abraham Accords, the so-called normalization agreements between Israel and several Arab and Muslim-majority countries.

Netanyahu, however, “reacted with relative calm” and assured bin Zayed that Israel was prepared, while suggesting that any potential attack was more likely to come from the occupied West Bank.

Netanyahu’s office has rejected the report as an “absolute lie,” insisting that he did not speak with bin Zayed during the period in question and received no warning from him.

The UAE Foreign Ministry has also refused to comment on what it described as “speculation."

At the same time, the UAE admitted that the kingdom and Israel maintain “open and direct lines of communication” and that, when necessary, “all relevant intelligence has been and continues to be communicated” between them.

Implication of Netanyahu's rejection of Palestine peace plan

The so-called 15-point peace plan, proposed by the self-styled Board of Peace, was rejected out of hand by Netanyahu just over a week later.

The revelation has become especially damaging for Netanyahu ahead of so-called elections on October 27, with his handling of the October 7 fiasco emerging as a central issue. 

Former Israeli military chief and Netanyahu rival Gadi Eisenkot said the prime minister “received dozens of warnings for October 7 and ignored them all”.

Former prime minister Naftali Bennett said, “Netanyahu bears personal and direct responsibility for the failure".

Eisenkot and other opposition leaders are now demanding a commission of inquiry to establish what Netanyahu knew, when he knew it and why Israel’s so-called security establishment was not fully alerted.

Netanyahu and his regime of the most fanatical Zionists have used the Hamas operation as a pretext to virtually obliterate the Gaza Strip and push for ethnic cleansing of the territory of some 3 million Palestinians.  

Since Israel began its genocidal war against Gaza, its forces have killed at least 73,000 Palestinians, and wounded another 173,000, most of them women and children, with thousands of others remaining under rubble.

The new revelation, however, exposes Abu Dhabi's deep complicity in Israel's war machine and its systematic betrayal of the Palestinian cause, Arab solidarity, and the collective conscience of the Muslim world.

In 2020, Abu Dhabi shocked the region by signing the Abraham Accords, becoming one of the first Arab states to normalize relations with Israel.

Since then, the UAE has transformed into one of Israel's most trusted regional allies. Leaked documents have revealed extensive espionage collaboration between the UAE and Israel's Mossad, including joint surveillance operations inside Gaza and Qatar under direct orders from Netanyahu.

The UAE has actively worked to marginalize the Palestinian cause, removing references to the war from school textbooks and reframing it as a mere "land dispute".

Abu Dhabi and Riyadh have made clear that not a single dollar will flow to rebuild Gaza unless Hamas surrenders its weapons—an act of collective punishment that serves Israeli interests while abandoning Palestinians in their hour of greatest need.
