IRGC Navy warns tanker crews near Kuwait, Bahrain ports to leave vessels after US attacks on Iranian tankers

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)’s Navy issues an immediate warning to tanker crews in the vicinity of ports and harbors in Kuwait and Bahrain, two states complicit in the US’s violations against Iran, calling on them to leave their vessels following American attacks on Iranian oil tankers.

In a statement on Wednesday, the IRGC Navy said the warning was issued in response to the “hostile actions” of the US military in targeting several oil tankers belonging to the Islamic Republic.

“Immediate Warning: In light of the hostile actions by the US terrorist military in targeting several oil tankers belonging to the Islamic Republic, we hereby warn all tanker crews in the vicinity of the ports and harbors of Kuwait and Bahrain, which host these terrorists and are complicit in their hostile actions, to immediately leave their vessels, whether they are at anchor or berthed at port, as they will be targeted,” the statement read.

Earlier, American outlets had cited the country’s officials as saying that the United States had targeted multiple Iranian tankers near Kharg Island in the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday.

In April, the United States announced a unilateral ceasefire in the latest bout of unprovoked American-Israeli aggression against Iran after being met with consistent and uncompromising Iranian retaliation.

The US, however, went on to violate the terms of the truce on many occasions only to be met with similarly unremitting Iranian reprisal.

Washington did not stop its violations even after signing a Pakistan-mediated memorandum of understanding with Tehran, which was inked with the aim of ending the cycle that had arisen out of the aggression.

The Islamic Republic has not only refused to leave any instance of those violations unanswered, but has also enforced a decisive closure on the Strait of Hormuz pending the US’s fulfillment of its commitments under the memorandum.

One of the strongest cases of Iranian reprisal came on Saturday after the IRGC’s Aerospace Force launched several ballistic missiles at a US aircraft carrier and an American destroyer participating in Washington’s illegal naval blockade against the Islamic Republic, forcing the vessels to flee.

Also on Tuesday, Iran’s top security official said Washington had received a “clear warning” from the Islamic Republic’s new missile capabilities, after Tehran tested a new anti-ship missile during the incident.

In a post on X, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, also warned that Iran had recalibrated its military posture against US warships. He said even US Central Command could not conceal the incident, describing it as a warning that Washington’s naval blockade of Iran was vulnerable.
