News review: Israeli forces, settlers intensify violence across West Bank

An Israeli settler ran over a Palestinian child in Abu Najim, southeast of Bethlehem.

A Palestinian man was also killed after Israeli forces besieged his home south of Nablus, fired grenades at the building and demolished parts of it. Dozens of settlers also attacked Palestinian homes near Burqa, injuring two people, while Israeli troops detained two Palestinian children in Bethlehem.

Meanwhile, the UK government has announced sweeping sanctions on trade with Israeli settlements.

The British foreign secretary described the settlers as terrorists carrying out ethnic cleansing in the West Bank with the backing of the Israeli regime. The Palestinian Health Ministry says four Palestinians were killed by Israeli gunfire within 24 hours, bringing the death toll so far this year to 100.
