Terrorists martyr two servicemen during attack in southeast Iran
Terrorists have martyred two servicemen during an attack targeting their vehicle in the southeastern Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan.
Ali Khalilabadi, a deputy provincial governor, announced the development on Sunday, saying the “cowardly attack” took place as the vehicle was carrying supplies for local members of the country’s Basij volunteer force in the province’s Zahedan County.
The victims, identified as Keivan Ramroudi and Abolfazl Oudi, “courageously stood their ground” before attaining martyrdom, he added, saying further details regarding the incident as well as the identity of the attackers would be revealed by relevant authorities in due course.
Weapons seized from separatist terrorists in northwest
Separately, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)’s Shahid Hamzeh Seyyed al-Shohada Headquarters announced the discovery and seizure of weapons belonging to “terrorist separatists” during an operation along the border of Oshnavieh County in West Azarbaijan Province.
The seized items included six Kalashnikov rifles, 28 Kalashnikov magazines, six chest rigs, 456 foreign-made rounds of ammunition, 77 armor-piercing rounds, and 246 standard rounds.
The operation benefited from cooperation provided in advance by intelligence forces, including those enlisted by the IRGC Intelligence Organization in West Azarbaijan.
According to the headquarters, the terrorists, acting in coordination with and under the direction of the espionage services of the “global hegemonic powers” and the Israeli regime, had intended to deploy the arms towards staging sabotage operations elsewhere inside the country.
It warned all seditious elements and their ringleaders that it was maintaining continuous intelligence monitoring of terrorist groups, and would deliver a “regret-inducing response” to any action aimed at sowing insecurity inside the country.
Enemy collaborators arrested in southwest
Meanwhile, the police in Shadegan County in the southwestern Iranian province of Khuzestan announced the arrest of three individuals seeking to cause public unrest through cooperation with anti-establishment and counterrevolutionary groups on social media.
Colonel Rouhollah Ashiri, the Shadegan police chief, said that the police launched a special investigation after material was published online by the individuals with the aim of disturbing public opinion, undermining public morale, and propagation against the country’s Islamic establishment.
They were subsequently handed over to judicial authorities to complete legal proceedings, the law enforcement official added before asserting that monitoring the cyberspace and firm police action against such seditious activities would continue.
