Ansarullah: Saudi Arabia remains Yemen’s number one enemy
A member of Yemen’s Ansarullah political bureau has denounced Saudi Arabia as Yemen’s number one enemy, saying Riyadh continues to pursue domination, occupation and a crippling blockade against Sana’a.
“Saudi Arabia will remain our number one enemy,” Mohammed al-Farah wrote on X on Sunday, stressing that Riyadh has mobilized its forces and affiliated elements in Yemen to impose its control over the country.
Riyadh also uses its proxies to protect its interests, ships and oil facilities, he said, adding that the Saudi presence in Yemen is part of a broader campaign to maintain control over the country.
“Clashes and confrontations in some areas are not the main battle but form part of the wider confrontation with Saudi Arabia, and these developments on the ground will not replace the targeting of Saudi interests,” al-Farah warned.
The objectives of the Yemeni people, he emphasized, remain ending the occupation, lifting the blockade on Yemen and restoring the country’s wealth.
“These objectives will remain firmly in place throughout the confrontation,” he stressed, rejecting any attempt to force Yemen into submission.
Al-Farah also reaffirmed Ansarullah’s commitment to responding to escalation with escalation and maintaining pressure on Saudi Arabia.
“The equation of blockade against blockade remains in place, as does comprehensive escalation in response to comprehensive escalation,” he said.
He described the recent Yemeni military attack on Saudi Aramco facilities in the Jizan region as a clear warning to Riyadh and those continuing its hostile policies toward Yemen.
The attack, he added, should serve as a sufficient lesson for those who continue pursuing policies against the Yemeni people.
Fighting has rekindled in various provinces of Yemen in the past few weeks, as the country endures one of the most critical humanitarian and economic crises in the world.
On July 20, the Sana’a government declared a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia, in response to Riyadh’s “unjust and oppressive siege” on Yemen for nearly 12 years, “exploiting our resources and imposing a complete blockade.”
The Yemeni armed forces have subsequently announced several successful missions targeting Saudi-linked vessels in the Red Sea.
In March 2015, Saudi Arabia, along with its allies, enforced a blockade on Yemen, launching an all-out onslaught supported militarily, politically, and logistically by the US and certain Western nations.
Tens of thousands of Yemenis have been killed, but Saudi Arabia has not succeeded in obtaining its main objective of reinstating a puppet regime that aligns with its interests.
