Iranian officials have condemned a new war crime committed by the terrorist US military that involved the bombing of a wedding ceremony in a coastal city in the country’s south.
The denunciations came after four civilians, including a child, were killed and 68 others injured in a US missile strike on Tuesday hit a wedding celebration, which was being held at a private home in the city of Kuhestak, in Sirik County, Hormozgan Province, bordering the Strait of Hormuz.
In an X post, Chairman of Expediency Council Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani said, “The crime in Sirik that massacred defenseless women and children is a manifestation of the United States’ brutality and deceitful nature, exposing the shamelessness and depravity of those who profit from the cause of human rights.”
“This blatant war crime demonstrated that their (the Americans’) so-called civilization is nothing more than polished-up barbarism. Undoubtedly, the shame of this bloodshed will weigh forever on the shoulders of all those who perpetrated and supported it,” he added.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Vice President for Legal Affairs Majid Ansari said the “lawless and rogue” US government killed and wounded yet more defenseless Iranian civilians with a missile attack on the wedding reception in Sirik, continuing its aggression and horrific war crimes against Iran.
“With this criminal act, the US government has added to its record yet another case of blatant violation of the fundamental principles of international law and a war crime. The international responsibility arising from this war crime will rest with those who ordered and carried it out,” he asserted.
Ansari also ordered the International Legal Affairs Center of Iran’s Presidential Office to urgently examine all legal dimensions and aspects of the wedding carnage.
He further emphasized that the department under his watch is pursuing the following tasks as a matter of priority, including thoroughly documenting the crimes committed against the Iranian people, safeguarding the rights of the victims and their families, and making use of all available international legal mechanisms to hold to account the perpetrators of the atrocities against the nation.
The United States and Israel launched their illegal war of aggression against Iran on February 28 by assassinating Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, along with senior military commanders.
Forty days later, on April 8, the enemies were forced to accept a ceasefire amid Iran’s resistance, successful retaliatory operations, and a powerful grip on the Strait of Hormuz.
In July, the United States conducted waves of deadly air raids on Iran and imposed a naval blockade of the country in violation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Islamic Republic, signed on June 17, to end the war.
In response, the Iranian armed forces launched devastating strikes against strategic American targets across West Asia and declared the Strait of Hormuz closed to all traffic.
