He argues Washington’s actions reflect weakness and desperation rather than strength, noting that the US is no longer able to impose outcomes as it once did.
Simons says Iran’s response against US positions in the region is a legitimate and necessary reaction to unlawful aggression, adding that President Trump is driven by political self‑interest and a collapsing media narrative.
According to the analyst, Trump’s repeated tactics, public outbursts, and increasingly erratic decisions, from confrontations with journalists to symbolic gestures and trade disputes, reveal a leader unable to admit failure and resorting to escalation as his strategy loses credibility.
