Israeli forces launch widespread raids across occupied West Bank, abduct Palestinians
Israeli military forces have intensified their offensive in the occupied West Bank, raiding multiple cities, villages, and camps across the region and abducting several Palestinians, amid escalating settler attacks against Palestinians and their property.
The official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that Israeli occupation forces stormed Aqabat Jaber refugee camp, southwest of Ariha, early on Monday, triggering clashes with residents.
Israeli troops raided the camp on board several military vehicles, pursued young men in the al-Madaris neighborhood, and fired stun grenades, Palestinian media said, quoting local sources. No injuries were reported.
Separately, Israeli forces opened fire on a Palestinian vehicle carrying several young men during a raid in the central West Bank city of Nablus.
WAFA said Israeli special forces fired on the vehicle near the municipal stadium, and ordered one of the occupants to surrender.
Additional Israeli military vehicles reportedly entered Nablus through the Deir Sharaf checkpoint, and deployed around the stadium.
Israeli special forces also abducted a young Palestinian man, identified as Fateh al-Ashqar, near the municipal stadium.
Elsewhere in the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces raided Jenin and deployed in the center of the city.
Israeli occupation forces also stormed the towns of Ajjah, al-Fandaqumiya and Jaba, south of Jenin.
Moreover, Palestinian security and local sources told WAFA that Israeli special forces raided Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus, on Monday morning. They searched a café, and then abducted a man named Qusay al-Hashash.
Four Palestinians were shot and injured on Sunday evening when illegal Israeli settlers attacked the village of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah.
WAFA said groups of extremist Jewish settlers attacked the village under the protection of Israeli forces, damaging Palestinian vehicles and sparking confrontations with residents.
The settlers also attempted to break into several homes, while others approached houses on the western edge of the village.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said its medical staff transported four people suffering from gunshot wounds to hospital.
Since the onset of Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, the West Bank has experienced a persistent increase in Israeli military offensives and assaults by settlers, coupled with the proliferation of unlawful settlement outposts, development of roads exclusively for settlers, and stricter limitations on the movement of Palestinians.
