Iran Navy will spare no effort to safeguard national security: Commander

Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani

Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani says the force remains committed to defending the country and safeguarding national security.

Addressing a gathering of naval personnel in the northern city of Rasht on Sunday, Irani said the enemy is making a serious miscalculation if it believes targeting Navy members would prevent the force from carrying out its missions.

He added that the Navy has a duty to “strongly and resolutely” continue the path that the martyrs paved through sacrifice and dedication and to ensure that the flag they raised with their blood remains upheld.

“The enemy has made a miscalculation in assessing the spirit and resolve of the Iranian people and the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Irani emphasized.

The commander stressed the importance of preserving the legacy entrusted by the martyrs with strength, dignity and honor and passing it on to future generations.

The path of Iran’s dignity and independence will continue through resistance and steadfastness, he noted.

The commander described the Navy as alive, dynamic and powerful, saying its personnel continue to pursue their missions with the same spirit demonstrated by the martyrs.
