The secretary-general of the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement has praised the resilience of various segments of the Iranian society during the recent US-Israeli wars of aggression against the Islamic Republic, stressing that perseverance will push back enemies and thwart their schemes.
“The United States and Israel have failed in three wars against the Islamic Republic of Iran due to the unity and resilience of the Iranian nation," Sheikh Naim Qassem said on Sunday as he delivered a speech on the occasion of Unity Week.
He was referring to two rounds of joint acts of aggression launched by the US and Israel against Iran in June 2025 and February 2026 and another round of US attacks against the country in July.
"As long as we stand firm and defend our rights and homeland, enemies will not manage to attain their objectives, no matter what sacrifices we might have to make or how many casualties we might sustain," he added.
He said that disagreements among Muslim governments should not open up an internal front, and push Muslims towards forgetting all about their principal enemies.
Sheikh Qassem noted that martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei transformed theoretical Muslim unity into practical unity, and revived the Palestinian cause as the foremost and overriding issue of the Muslim world.
“Palestinians have made tremendous sacrifices with their money, weapons and possessions in their struggle against the Tel Aviv regime and Washington. Such unity is what represents itself in Lebanon as the close connections between Hezbollah, the Amal Movement, and all political factions. They unanimously reject the Israeli occupation and strive for freedom,” the Hezbollah leader said.
“Nowadays, the US acts as an enemy of the Muslim world, and attempts to uproot the Islamic project and divest nations in the region of their rights,” Sheikh Qassem said.
He said Washington wants to dominate the homeland and future of regional peoples, direct nations in accordance with its misleading instructions and enslave them.
The Hezbollah leader emphasized that steadfastness and resistance, no matter how high its cost, will halt the enemy's advances and will pave the way for enhancing national status.
“No matter what measures the US and Israel would take, what severe sanctions they would enforce, and how intense their military aggression might be, steadfastness will foil enemies’ plots,” Sheikh Qassem pointed out.
The Hezbollah chief also affirmed that any retreat of Muslims in the face of enemies will result in their defeat and humiliation, because foes act mercilessly and are aggressively seeking to establish absolute dominance over the whole world.
