US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent - the official who has recently launched the so-called operation economic outcast against Iran - began his career as a speculative financial trader by nearly bringing Italy to its knees.
In 1992, Bessent was one of the hedge fund manager George Soros' collaborators and actively worked towards the Italian currency crisis that forced the Italian lira out of the European Monetary System. A devastating blow that many still remember very well in Italy. Our correspondent Max Civili reports from Rome
