Security forces kill one, capture six terrorists in southeast Iran
Iranian security forces have carried out two separate surprise operations in the country’s southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province, inflicting losses on the so-called Jaish al-Adl terrorist group.
Police spokesman General Saeed Montazer al-Mahdi said servicemen from the Law Enforcement Command of the Islamic Republic of Iran (FARAJA), in cooperation with members of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force and the Ministry of Intelligence, successfully conducted the operations against the militants in Saravan County on Friday.
He added that one terrorist was neutralized and six others were captured in the process.
According to Montazer al-Mahdi, a considerable amount of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the slain militants.
The confiscated items included dozens of Kalashnikov automatic assault rifles, hand grenades, RPG-7 rocket-propelled grenade launchers, approximately 20 kilograms of C-4 military-grade high explosives, and 150 rounds of live ammunition.
Several Starlink satellite internet terminals were also discovered and seized from members of the terrorist group.
The police spokesperson noted that the detained individuals were directly linked to previous fatal attacks against Iranian security forces and IRGC servicemen in the region.
On October 26, 2024, ten members of Iran's law enforcement forces were killed in a terrorist attack in the Gohar Kuh district of Taftan County.
The so-called Jaish al-Adl terrorist group claimed responsibility for the assault, which was one of the deadliest in Sistan and Baluchestan province in recent years.
The foreign-backed terror outfit, based in Pakistan, has been involved in numerous assaults targeting both civilians and security forces across the border province in the past several years.
