Trump’s ‘economic D-Day’

After months of war, the Trump administration is turning once again to economic pressure against Iran, describing the new sanctions push as an "Economic D-Day." 

But can sanctions succeed where military force failed? The question is whether Washington is trying to force Tehran back to the negotiating table, weaken Iran's economy, or simply create new leverage after the war failed to deliver its desired outcome.
