Saudi nationals killed, injured as Yemen strikes Riyadh-backed mercenaries: Military spox
Yemen’s Armed Forces have carried out a large-scale missile and drone operation targeting the positions, gathering points, and weapons depots of Saudi-backed mercenaries in the Mokha area of Ta’izz Province and at the Tadawin camp in Ma’rib Province.
Spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced the information in a statement on Tuesday, saying the operation involved a large number of ballistic missiles and attack drones, which struck designated targets, including command centers.
Saree added that the strikes killed and wounded dozens, including Saudi nationals.
The operation came after Yemeni forces carried out a wave of strikes against Saudi-backed forces for a second consecutive day.

On Monday, Yemeni military units struck Saudi-sponsored militiamen from the so-called Shabwah Defense Forces in the Bayhan district of southeastern Shabwah Province, according to local media reports. The strikes killed at least two militants and wounded several others.
The Monday strikes came only hours after Yemeni servicemen conducted drone strikes against Mokha. No immediate reports of casualties or damage were available following those late-Sunday strikes.
The previous day, however, Yemeni strikes on Mokha and nearby areas had killed seven Saudi-backed mercenaries and wounded 30 others.
At the time, Saree said the major operation was carried out as Saudi-backed forces were engaged in a substantial military buildup and preparing to launch attacks against Yemeni servicemen.
The latest strikes come after Yemen announced a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia on July 20 in retaliation for a siege imposed by Riyadh on the former for 12 consecutive years.

The Yemeni Armed Forces subsequently announced several operations against Saudi-linked vessels in the Red Sea.
Simultaneously with imposing the blockade, Saudi Arabia and its allies launched a devastating war against Yemen with military, political, and logistical support from the United States and certain Western countries.
The war went on to claim the lives of tens of thousands of Yemenis. Saudi Arabia, however, has failed to achieve its stated primary objective of restoring a government aligned with Riyadh.
