Conditions for reopening Hormuz Strait
Iran’s Army says the United States must accept Iranian order established in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran insists that the strait will not be opened unless the US rectifies its behavior.
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) has laid out six conditions, including an end to the aggression against Iran and its allies, withdrawal of US forces from the region, compensation for the damage caused by the two wars, the lifting of sanctions and the unconditional release of Iranian assets.
This comes at a time when Iran and Oman are working on a mutually agreed framework to manage traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. The big question is what Iran wants in exchange for reopening the Strait of Hormuz. This episode of Spotlight tries to answer this question.
