IRGC hits US airbase in Jordan with ballistic missiles, halts trespassing ships in Strait of Hormuz
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has staged a retaliatory ballistic missile strike against an American airbase in Jordan, besides halting three trespassing vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
“In response to the aggressive actions of the child-killing US military, the brave fighters of the IRGC’s Aerospace Force launched several ballistic missiles at a US airbase and the US military's Central Command’s headquarters in Jordan,” the Corps said in a statement in early Wednesday.

“As long as threats against the Islamic Republic continue and the unlawful and hostile actions of US forces against our interests persist, resistance will also continue,” it added.
“Threats by US officials and unlawful interference against our interests must come to an end.”
The United States has perpetrated numerous violations against Iranian territory since April 7, when US President Donald Trump announced a unilateral ceasefire in the latest bout of wholesale American-Israeli aggression targeting the Islamic Republic.
The violations continued even after Washington and Tehran signed a Pakistan-mediated memorandum of understanding last month, whose first clause had clearly mandated cessation of aggression on all fronts.
In line with the MoU, the Islamic Republic also designated a maritime route for safe and legal passage through the Strait of Hormuz. The US has, however, been trying to help ships evade the route by seeking to escort trespassing vessels through an illegal passageway.
Iran's Armed Forces have staged uncompromising retaliation in the face of each instance of violation, including those taking place in support of illegal vessel movement in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a separate statement on Wednesday, the IRGC announced bringing to a halt three oil tankers that had “violated our warnings and continued sailing along an unsafe and unlawful route” in the waterway under American instigation.
“The IRGC Navy once again warns that the unlawful interference and directives issued by the child-killing US military to vessels operating in the region will not go unanswered.”
