Cyber group says it destroys 120TB of Israeli financial, military data

Cyber group destroys 120TB of Israeli financial, defense data

A hacking group says it has destroyed 120 terabytes of sensitive financial and defense-related data after breaching several key Israeli financial and accounting firms.

In a statement on Saturday, Cyber Isnaad Front said it carried out a large-scale cyber operation using domestically developed tools and newly recruited cyber personnel, targeting critical components of Israel's financial infrastructure.

The group said it infiltrated the systems of Oren Levy Accounting and Auditing, which works with Israel's ministries of Justice, Finance, Economy, and Energy, as well as military companies including Rafael, Elbit Systems, and Israel Aerospace Industries.

It also targeted Finco Financial and Tax Consulting in Hod Hasharon and Milikowsky Consulting and Investments in Tel Aviv.

According to the statement, the operation destroyed about 120 terabytes of sensitive data and permanently deleted all backup copies, disabling the companies' financial infrastructure, communication systems, and storage servers.

The group stated that the attack disrupted Israel's tax and financial operations and left many of the firms' clients unable to access critical records.

They noted that the attempts to recover the data would be futile because it had also erased all backup systems.

The Arabic-language Cyber Isnaad Front comprises several pro-Palestinian hacking groups from around the world.

The group has previously conducted multiple large-scale cyberattacks targeting Israel's critical infrastructure, including military facilities, industrial plants, and public and private companies, as well as operations involving the disclosure of sensitive data and disruption of industrial systems.
