Ayatollah Khamenei’s commitment to Palestine unmatched in history: Hamas official

A senior Hamas official says martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei had such a deep commitment to the Palestinian cause that was almost unrivaled in history.

Osama Hamdan said in remarks published on Monday that Ayatollah Khamenei’s unwavering support for Palestine empowered resistance against the Israeli regime and strengthened international campaigns in the defense of the Palestinians.

“Throughout all these years, his commitment to the Palestinian cause, as a fundamental principle and a righteous struggle against falsehood, was unparalleled and far beyond conventional support,” said Hamdan in an interview with the Arabic-language Al-Alam network.

The Hamas official said Ayatollah Khamenei never wavered or retreated from his support for the Palestinian resistance and was even ready to offer greater support in difficult times.

He said the late Leader’s vision for Palestine was a strategic one which viewed the Palestinian cause as a unifying factor in the Muslim world.

“He always believed that Palestine has the power to unite the Ummah and play a pivotal role in countering adversarial conspiracies aimed at sowing division and inflicting weakness.”

A senior Hamas official says the large-scale and anti-Israel Operation al-Aqsa Flood altered all previous political and military equations.

Ayatollah Khamenei’s view of the October 7, 2023 operation against the Israeli regime in Gaza, which triggered a genocidal Israeli war on Gaza, was also very unique, as he believed the operation was a turning point in the history of the Islamic Ummah that would ultimately benefit Palestine.

Hamdan said Ayatollah Khamenei’s martyrdom on February 28 in a joint US-Israeli attack was a result of his brave and definitive stances in support of resistance.

“Although the loss of this great leader is deeply heart-wrenching, it marks a befitting culmination to a long journey of steadfastness in defending the rights of the Palestinian people.”
