Araghchi exposes how US military meddling breeds insecurity across West Asia

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has slammed the myth of US-led “protection,” saying that American forces have delivered nothing but chaos and instability to the West Asian region.

Responding directly to CENTCOM’s announcement of a Bahrain-hosted military dialogue with officials from multiple regional states, Araghchi asked on Thursday night on X, “Has CENTCOM brought security or insecurity to our region?”

“The answer is clear,” he stated.

Araghchi went on to highlight Iran’s unmatched military strength: “Equally, our Powerful Armed Forces have proven that outsiders cannot even protect themselves. Peace in our region can only be sustained when comprehensive and inclusive, with no outside interference.”

The US Central Command’s July 1 gathering in Bahrain, chaired by Gen. Brad Cooper, brought together military officials from countries including Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and others.

Discussions focused on military cooperation and securing shipping through the Strait of Hormuz in yet another attempt by Washington to reassert influence following its recent failed aggression against Iran.

This comes weeks after the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran, during which the Islamic Republic’s armed forces delivered powerful retaliatory strikes that exposed the limits of foreign military umbrellas.

Iranian officials, including Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei, have repeatedly warned regional nations against falling for deceptive US security initiatives that have historically sown division and conflict across West Asia.

“The US administration has repeatedly demonstrated that it places no value on the peace and security of the countries of the West Asia region,” Baghaei said in a post on X on Thursday.

Foreign Minister Araghchi’s message sends a clear signal that true security cannot be outsourced to distant powers with a long history of intervention and aggression.

Iran continues to champion a regional order rooted in mutual respect, non-interference, and the collective strength of West Asian nations, a framework that has proven far more effective than any CENTCOM-led alliance.
