One killed, 6 injured in Ukraine drone strike on bus carrying Belarusian youth football team in Russia

A Ukrainian drone struck a bus carrying a Belarusian youth football team in Russia’s Bryansk region, killing one woman and injuring six civilians, including four children, Russian officials said.

The bus was transporting the football team from Belarus’s Gomel region to the Black Sea resort city of Gelendzhik on Wednesday, when it came under attack by a fixed-wing drone operated by Ukrainian forces, according to Bryansk Acting Governor Yegor Kovalchuk.

“As a result of the targeted strike, a woman accompanying the team was killed. Six people were wounded, including four children,” Kovalchuk said.

He said all of the injured were taken to the hospital and received medical treatment. The remaining passengers are expected to return home in the coming days.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned the attack on Russian soil, describing it as “another terrorist act by the Kyiv regime, which targets civilians, especially children."

Ukraine ‘deliberately’ attacked Europe’s largest nuclear power plant: Rosatom

The Ukrainian military “deliberately” attacked Russia’s Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), according to the Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom.

The attack comes as Ukraine continues drone strikes deep inside Russian territory amid the ongoing war, which began after Moscow launched a military operation in February 2022.

Russian officials have repeatedly condemned such attacks, saying they increasingly target civilian infrastructure and non-military personnel.

Earlier this month, a Ukrainian drone attack killed five Azerbaijani nationals after striking two foreign vessels in the Sea of Azov.
