Iran on Saturday condemned a pre-dawn US drone strike on its radar facilities as a violation of the ceasefire, as the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced retaliatory strikes on two US air bases in Kuwait and the remaining facilities of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain in response to the attack.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi criticised Lebanese President Joseph Aoun’s claims about Iran’s role in Lebanon, urging him to focus on the country’s “real foe” rather than Tehran.
Tehran renewed its criticism of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) over its politicised approach to Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.
The day also saw continued developments in Lebanon, a visit to Tehran by Pakistan’s interior minister Mohsen Naqvi, and international reactions to the US-Israeli aggression against Iran from figures including Pope Leo XIV and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Key developments on day 99 of the war, the 59th day of the ceasefire:
- Iran strongly condemned a pre-dawn US drone strike on its radar facilities as a "flagrant breach" of the April ceasefire, reaffirming its "legitimate and inherent" right to self-defence while urging the United Nations to take action against repeated US violations of the truce.
- IRGC said it targeted two US air bases in Kuwait and the remaining facilities of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain in response to the latest US aggression.
- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi sharply criticized comments made by Lebanese President Joseph Aoun about Tehran’s alleged influence in the Arab country, urging him to focus on Lebanon's "real foe" rather than Iran.
- Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, warned against sacrificing the Resistance for hollow promises. He said sustainable peace grows from a balance of power rather than appeasing the enemy.
- Tehran censured the IAEA over its politicized stance, saying if the agency wants to be part of a diplomatic solution, it must refrain from turning technical reports into a tool of political pressure.

- Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arrived in Tehran for an official visit aimed at holding high-level discussions with Iranian officials in line with Islamabad's ongoing mediation efforts between Iran and the United States.
- Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, said the targeting of Lebanese army forces by the Israeli enemy once again confirms that the regime's hostility is directed toward all of Lebanon.
