Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf says Iran is no longer a target of easy threats for enemies, adding that the experience of confronting two US-Israeli wars has shown that Iran is well capable of delivering harsh responses to any aggression.
In a message on the occasion of the passing anniversary of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, on Wednesday, Qalibaf said the era of threatening Iran without bearing its consequences has clearly passed.
The Iranian Parliament speaker said in the message that, inspired by Imam Khomeini’s teachings, the Iranian nation showed in its recent confrontations with the United States and the Israeli regime that it will never bow to pressure.
“Imam Khomeini taught the Iranian nation not to retreat in the face of bullying and domination… any aggression will be met with a decisive, regretful, and proportionate response,” the speaker said in the message.
Qalibaf also recalled the memory of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who used to deliver a key speech at the shrine of Imam Khomeini every year on the eve of the passing anniversary.
Ayatollah Khamenei was martyred in an airstrike on his office in Tehran on the first day of the recent US-Israeli aggression on February 28.
“With his pure blood, Martyr Khamenei ensured the continuation and guarantee of the movement of the great Khomeini, and raised the flag of dignity, independence, and resistance higher than ever before, and entrusted it to future generations,” Qalibaf said.
He said millions in Iran, inspired by the teachings and legacies of Imam Khomeini and Ayatollah Khamenei, will continue to resist foreign interference aimed at undermining the independence of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
