May 24th marks the anniversary of the liberation of Iran's southwestern city of Khorramshahr.
It was liberated during the eight-year imposed war by Iraq’s toppled Baath regime in the 1980s.
Ever since, it has become a symbol of Iranian resistance.
This year, the commemoration has taken on a deeper meaning, as crowds of people gathered in Tehran to renew their pledge of resistance against Iran's adversaries. Gisoo Misha Ahmadi reports.
