The death sentence of a man convicted of spying for the CIA and Mossad has been carried out after the verdict was upheld by Iran's Judiciary and all legal procedures were completed.
According to the case files, Erfan Shakourzadeh was hired by an Iranian organization active in the field of satellite technology and undertook a project due to his expert knowledge of the matter.
Based on existing documents and his explicit confessions, Shakourzadeh initiated contact with US and Israeli spying services, particularly Mossad, at the same time as cooperating with the Iranian scientific center, and attempted to supply his handlers with classified information.
The case files also show that the convicted individual initially filled out a form of cooperation with Mossad, and sent detailed information about himself, his family, tasks at the workplace, and his missions to the service.
After a while, someone who claimed to be an Iranian expatriate residing in Canada and impressed by his resume contacted Shakourzadeh via the LinkedIn platform.
The undercover Mossad operative offered Shakourzadeh the chance to contribute to dollar-paid projects abroad.
Following the establishment of contact with Mossad, the convict attempted to get in touch with the CIA.
He asked the CIA agent to help him obtain a US visa and the opportunity to study in the country.
The death sentence of Shakourzadeh was conducted early Monday after his conviction for espionage in favor of the US and Israeli spying services, CIA and Mossad, was confirmed by Iran's Supreme Court and finalized through the legal process.
