President Masoud Pezeshkian says Iran represents an ethical and responsible power, while its adversaries embody an irresponsible and unaccountable one.
In a post on X on Tuesday, Pezeshkian wrote that “at the heart of Iranian national identity and our religious wisdom, power stripped of morality holds no significance.”
He argued that when politics is reduced to nothing but power, it produces the very world we see today, one marked by “chaos, oppression, injustice, and piracy.”
Pezeshkian’s remarks come as tensions rise in the Persian Gulf amid the illegal US blockade of Iranian ports, a move Tehran has condemned as maritime piracy.
Since US President Donald Trump announced the unlawful blockade in early April, US naval forces have repeatedly targeted civilian commercial vessels.
Iran has consistently denounced the naval blockade and has pledged not to rejoin talks with the United States as long as it remains in place.
