Europe cracks: French president rejects coercive US blockades against Iran

French President Emmanuel Macron

French President Emmanuel Macron has publicly rejected Washington’s coercive blockades against the Islamic Republic of Iran, declaring that negotiations must be “systematic” and rooted in diplomacy, not military pressure or economic strangulation.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday at an informal European Council meeting in Cyprus, Macron stressed the importance of preserving the ceasefire in Iran and Lebanon while calling for genuine diplomatic engagement on Tehran’s nuclear and missile programs.

“Dialogue with Iran must be carried out in a systematic manner, not through targeted blockades or similar measures,” the French leader stated.

He confirmed that France and Britain are coordinating militarily and strategically to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing that Paris is meeting its responsibilities in this regard.

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a large-scale and unprovoked war against Iran, assassinating Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and several high-ranking military commanders.

In response, Iranian Armed Forces carried out a series of retaliatory missile and drone operations against US and Israeli military assets for over 40 days, which resulted in significant damage.

Iran’s legendary resistance shattered the aggressors’ plans, compelling them to accept a ceasefire on April 7 that Washington itself extended indefinitely on April 21.

Macron’s remarks are proof of the West’s strategic collapse. Having witnessed Iran’s unbreakable defensive might and the devastating price paid by the Zionist regime and its American masters, even Europe is now scrambling to distance itself from the blockade fiasco that backfired spectacularly.

France’s demand for “systematic dialogue” echoes exactly what the Islamic Republic has always insisted upon that Iran will never sit at the table under threat, sanctions, or gunboat diplomacy.

Any real agreement must honor Tehran’s sovereign rights, including its peaceful nuclear program and legitimate missile deterrent.
