Iran fully prepared to combat any threat, aggression with ‘iron will’: Army chief

Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army Major General Amir Hatami

Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army Major General Amir Hatami says the country is fully prepared with “iron will” to confront any threats and aggression against the Islamic Republic.

The Army chief issued a message on Friday on the occasion of the National Army Day, saying the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, saved the Iranian Army from the conspiracy of dissolution and weakening and stabilized it to safeguard the Islamic establishment, independence and territorial integrity.

After the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, he added, the Iranian Army strongly confronted sworn enemies and made great efforts in the fields of relief services.

He emphasized that the Iranian Army is presently following the commands of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei and relying on indigenous capabilities, up-to-date knowledge, and a strong spirit.

The Army considers itself a self-sacrificing defender of the security of the Iranian nation while maintaining its vigilance and combat readiness, Hatami reiterated.

He said the Army stands ready to confront any threat or act of aggression by enemies “with firm determination, watchful eyes, an iron will, and fingers on the trigger” and will remain committed to its pledge until the last breath.

The Army chief also assured the Iranian nation that the Armed Forces will continue, as in the past, to move steadfastly and strongly toward realizing the lofty ideals of the Islamic Revolution and serving the people and will resist with honor until achieving a final victory.

Army ready to resist any ground threat: Ground Force commander

Meanwhile, Commander of the Iranian Army’s Ground Force Brigadier General Ali Jahanshahi said on Friday that his unit enjoys operational capabilities and modern equipment with motivated and specialized forces.

He added that the Army Ground Forces are fully prepared to confront any enemy’s ground movements.

He noted that the Iranian Army’s offensive and destructive drones played a pivotal and strategic role in responding to the unprovoked 40-day US-Israel war, which began on February 28.

“The army carried out very effective operations against American bases in the region and the Zionist regime (Israel), using its advanced indigenous drones,” he emphasized.

Jahanshahi reiterated that such effective measures destroyed US equipment in the region, affected the defense systems of the Israeli regime and the United States and caused most of the missiles to work effectively in the occupied territory and the US bases in the region.

The US-Israeli aggression on Iran began on February 28 when the invading coalition assassinated Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders. It also included strikes on nuclear facilities, schools, hospitals and civilian infrastructure.

Iran’s Armed Forces responded with 100 waves of retaliatory strikes under Operation True Promise 4, launching hundreds of ballistic and hypersonic missiles, as well as drones, against American military bases across West Asia and Israeli positions throughout the occupied territories.
