Pezeshkian joins over 14 million—and counting—in pledging lives for homeland

President Masoud Pezeshkian has added his name to an ever-growing, 14-million-strong campaign of zealous and altruistic Iranians pledging their lives to defend the homeland amid the ongoing US-Israeli onslaught.

“More than 14 million proud Iranians have so far registered to sacrifice their lives to defend Iran. I too have been, am, and will remain devoted to giving my life for Iran,” Pezeshkian wrote in a post published on his X account on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, a member of the Presiding Board of the Iranian Parliament said that the mass participation of people and lawmakers in the campaign clearly shows that both the nation and the legislature are fully ready to defend their territory against the enemies’ acts of aggression.

Abbas Goudarzi extended his sincere gratitude for the initiation of the campaign, stating that the much-praiseworthy step has made headlines across the globe.

Goudarzi said there is no doubt that Iranians and those loving Iran will sacrifice their lives in defense of the country, emphasizing that the number of those registering for the campaign is increasing around the clock.

Goudarzi noted that the Iranian legislature is resolutely standing by the side of the nation in the wake of the ongoing US-Israeli war of aggression, and the lawmakers have vociferously expressed their preparedness to sacrifice their lives in defense of their homeland.

The United States and Israel initiated a large-scale and unprovoked military campaign against Iran on February 28, assassinating Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and several high-ranking military commanders despite indirect Tehran-Washington negotiations on Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out waves of retaliatory missile and drone operations against US interests across West Asia and Israeli positions in the occupied territories.
