‘Northern cities of occupied territories abandoned’ as missiles freely hit targets: IRGC commander

This grab taken from a video relesed by Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting on April 6, 2026, show drones launched at US targets at Saudi Arabia's Al-Kharj base and Kuwait's Al-Adiri base.

The Zionist regime has effectively conceded the collapse of its defense by abandoning its northern settlements, a senior Iranian military commander said, as Tehran’s missiles continue to hit strategic targets deep inside the occupied territories with no sign of interception.

Brigadier General Majid Mousavi, commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force, made the remarks in a post on the Upscrolled social media network.

He said the regime has lost the balance of power.

“The regime, by abandoning the northern cities of the occupied territories, has practically accepted a defeat in the balance [of power],” General Mousavi stated.

General Mousavi offered an assessment of the damage inflicted in the past 24 hours alone, highlighting the growing effectiveness of Iran’s precision-strike capabilities.

“Refineries, power facilities, ports, and the railways of Haifa Bay have been plowed by Iranian missiles over the past 24 hours, and there was no sign of missile interception,” he said, reffering to Iran’s retaliation for the US-Israeli attacks on Iran’s economic infrastructure, including the B1 bridge in Alborz province as well as the Mahshar petrochemical plant.

His comments come as Iran’s retaliatory strikes against US and Israeli assets enter their ninth week.

The United States and the Israeli regime launched their latest bout of unprovoked aggression against the Islamic Republic on February 28.

Since then, the Iranian Armed Forces have responded with nearly 100 waves of retaliatory strikes, codenamed Operation True Promise 4.

Israeli air defense systems, once touted as among the world’s most advanced, have repeatedly failed to stop incoming Iranian missiles, according to battlefield reports.

Iran has consistently framed its military operations as legitimate self-defense under international law.

The Islamic Republic has vowed to continue its retaliatory campaign until the US-Israeli aggression ceases and the occupied territories face the full consequences of the war they initiated.
